Coimbatore: Nowadays the 25 paise coin minted by the Govenment of India is loosing its value. The Business people and the petty shop owners refuse to accept the coin saying that it is of no value at present. People are much embarassed at this and could not make out the reason for the refusal of the coin. Neither the Government nor the RBI has not issued any orders announcing the devaluation of the coin. Even the Government bus conductors refuse to accept the coin when tendered for bus fare. The has resulted in picking up of quarrel at public places. It is good if the RBI issues any order towards the usage of the coin and its value. It is afraid that the days are not for the business people to refuse 50 paise coin and one rupee coin. So it is the bounden duty of the authorities to instruct the business people the value of the coin and the refusal to accept the coin is an offence against the act of legal tender.
