Coimbatore: ACC Limited has started it's help centre in Coimbatore. This happens to be it's 17th in the country and the first in Tamilnadu. According to  B.S. Biradar, Head of the regional customer service of the company the first such outlet was started by ACC in Bangalore in 2004. The company had conducted a study seven years ago through a private agency on what the consumers felt during the construction process and found that lot of them felt cheated or felt that they did not get the best value for their money. They needed help and guidance on several issues such as registration, products, planning, etc which motivated the company to come out with it's own help centres. These centres are mostly 850 sq.ft to 2,400 sq.ft and have resource materials, journals and online facilities. Weekend classes are conducted for the end consumers. Various construction materials are also displayed to explain to consumers the right mixture and quality of materials to be used and the ill-effects of using products of sub-standard quality.The centre is open seven days a week from 9.30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and has testing facilities too.
